The Canada geese returned again today, circling the field and then settling in for the night. They landed about 100 yards from our house, much closer than Friday.

Wow! I love the sunlight on the bird's wings. These fairly pop! Great capture.
Lovely shots. I like them when they come home to roost. We saw a field here that was almost covered by different kinds of wild geese. Some were larger and all brown and some were Canada and some were other colors. I was a passenger in a car and only caught a glimpse as we rushed by.
To answer your question about the horse harness... I left an answer on my blog where you posed the question and also here...
No, the leg straps are used in training but the horse has to have run with them a rather long time before they are completely removed. See the post at Brookville Daily Photo. This horse knows the ropes, so to speak and does not have the retaining straps like the one you saw.

I began this blog in 2008 after I retired. My main interest is photography and so most posts will contain photos, along with brief comments or explanations. I participate in several weekly blogs and occasionally post my own recurring themes. Occasionally I throw in comments, kudos or complaints about the world situation. I am retired, married to a smart, talented lady who once thought we computer people were geeks and now is one of us geeks. I have a long time interest in photography. We live in Maryland, about 50 miles from Washington, DC.
My main camera is a Nikon D3100 with two zoom lenses (18-55 and 55-200).

Great shots! I love that you can even see the color in their wings.
