Odd Shots - Squiggly lights

It is not unusual to see a few trees other than pines and firs decorated in peoples yards. But this one with the trunk and a few large limbs covered in lights look like a creature dancing in the yard. My attempt to take a long exposure without a tripd led to the squiggly lights and made the effect very odd.

Odd Shots - Odd or familiar?

This sight is fairly common this time of year. What is odd is taking a picture (before scraping it off the windshield).

Odd shots - Night harvest

About two week ago we heard a roaring noise out in the field that ran on into the night (this photo was taken at 11:32 PM). The farmer was harvesting soy beans, while a second was planting a new crop a few rows behind.

Odd Shots - Peeping leaf

The leaves are falling, but I spotted this one taking a peek in our dining room window. What's really odd is that the maple tree is on the other side of the house.

Odd Shots - Flying pig??

I think not! A vertical, down only glide is its only flying mode. One of the chainsaw carver's works available at the Frederick Oktoberfest.

Odd Shots - Snow on the pumpkins

The local paper says it's been more than 30 years since there has been snow in October, so that makes it Odd for here.

Odd Shots - Dangerous curve?

I have driven on this road many times and I don't think the curve is that dangerous! (In the other direction the safe speed is 20 MPH.)

Odd Shots - Sheep's clothing?

I do not expect to see fancy sweaters on farm animals around here, but I spotted these newly shorn sheep at the fair wearing what appeared to be non-wool clothing.

PhotoShop - Palette knife

Playing with PhotoShop Elements 4.0, I applied several of the "Filter -> Artistic" effects. For this shot of the rear of two houses in Frederick, I liked the "Palette knife". The original image is below.
