Today, the wheat harvest began in the field behind us. The first clue is a roar that keeps getting louder and louder. With camera in hand, I went to investigate. This machine separates the grain from the chaff, leaving straw and a cloud of dust. Last year, they cut the wheat green and baled it for fodder.

you pack so much into your photos, this last bunch has taken me back to my childhood!
Photos like this make me smile. I love my country life. I feel that every one should experience it. I've lived the city life. It's nice... I love living on the beach, etc. BUT, nothing compared to my life here in the country. I use to milk cows, raise tobacco, corn, hay, etc... My grandfather took care of the pigs, chickens and such. Now, we just have the land and some cattle... but the daily farm days are over.
