Reflections - Power at dusk

This building is one of my favorite for reflections. The above image reflects the power lines and poles towards the west. For a view from the north, see my Window Views post last week.

Odd Shots - Where are the wheels?

This may not be an odd shot in Yakima Valley, but it is in Maryland. John Deere tractors have wheels and this is the only John Deere crawler I have seen. In the 1940's John Deere shipped tractor chassis to the Lindeman brothers in Yakima where they were mounted on crawler tracks. The crawlers were preferred in the orchards as they were more stable on the hills. Later John Deere manufactured crawlers in its Dubuque factory. Odd shots - Woodland flamingos

On a visit to my brother-in-law's this weekend I spotted a family of rare woodland flamingos wandering through the pines behind his house. They remained still while I took this shot..
