On a visit to my brother-in-law's this weekend I spotted a family of rare woodland flamingos wandering through the pines behind his house. They remained still while I took this shot..
Oh, how beautiful they are!! And how wonderful that you were able to get such a terrific capture, Lew! Incredible color! Thanks for sharing! Have a great week!

I began this blog in 2008 after I retired. My main interest is photography and so most posts will contain photos, along with brief comments or explanations. I participate in several weekly blogs and occasionally post my own recurring themes. Occasionally I throw in comments, kudos or complaints about the world situation. I am retired, married to a smart, talented lady who once thought we computer people were geeks and now is one of us geeks. I have a long time interest in photography. We live in Maryland, about 50 miles from Washington, DC.
My main camera is a Nikon D3100 with two zoom lenses (18-55 and 55-200).

That is a bird I would have loved to see. I'm glad you spotted it for me!
