My Valentine

This is the thirty-first Valentine's Day that this lady and I have spent together. With her I got a love for music, a stepson and a first granddaughter. She joined me in my love of photography. Marianne, it has been a delightful trip through life with you and I'm looking forward to the next 30!

Love you bunches!

Then and Now - Oak tree

Here are two shots of the oak tree in our back yard taken June 2008 and again at sunrise this morning. Marianne (lower left above) was taking a photo of the thermometer hanging on the back of the house.

Day 253 - A peaceful day

Marianne had a regularly scheduled check with her Doc today (she got a thumbs up!). After her checkup we headed for Baker Park in Frederick with cameras in tow. The lake there is always a peaceful place to sit and watch the ducks, or walk around. Today we did both. Water has always been peaceful to me. The creek that runs along side the lake also provides another peaceful interlude.

We then went downtown to one of our favorite places for dinner on the patio (beside same creek). Spending time with Marianne is at the top of my list of favorite peaceful things to do!

Day 125 - The Dalton gang

Marianne's sisters, brother and his wife came to visit Friday and we are having a grand time. Brother and wife went home on Sunday; the sisters will stay a little longer. There has been a lot of reminiscing, card playing, singing and listening to music (50's country and rock & roll). Someone will mention a song and all three sisters start singing it. As you can see, our blogging is (and will be) sporadic this week.

Day 45 - My valentine

Here's the love of my life, capturing the pixels to share with all of you! In her hands, these pixels become a beautiful picture. Happy Valentines Day Marianne and the rest of you around the world.

Day 32 - Icy morning

The storm passing through left us a coating of ice this morning and continues as rain. Not enough ice to cause broken limbs or power line problems here, just some pretty pictures. The ice coating on the fence in back of our house is a nice effect. Neither of us are venturing outside. Marianne used the new Nikon to take her Project 365 shots.

Day 10 - Marianne at work on project 365+1

Marianne used the empty playground to set a winter scene. I was experimenting with the Nikon control of depth of field.

Day 8 - Marianne

She is the love of my life. One of my goals this year is to improve my ability to take pictues of people. This one is a pretty good start. I took it during a lunch break while we were hunting for subjects for her project 365+1. She took the picture in my profile at the same time.

Day 1 - Marianne and the bels

Marianne did the project 365 photo blog in 2007 and decided to continue in 2008 http://lilbits365.blogspot.com/. I am taking a shot at joining her this year.

I have from time to time photographed her taking her photos. The weekly topic was "bells' and with a little photogenic license, these cheese "bels" became her subject. (See http://lilbits365.blogspot.com/2008/01/okay-i-lied.html for how they were used.) I plan to particpate in the project 365+1 project this year. I have taken photos each day this year and will catch up with posting over the next few days. On many occassions, you will see the same subjects on her blog, though not necessarily the same view.
