I think I have found the answer to the question Pete Seeger (and others) asked back in the 1960's. The squirrels ate the flowers.  Or maybe we are going to have tiny oak trees in our hanging basket.

Carroll Street Bridge - revisited

Last week I posted a reflection of part of the Carroll Street Bridge for "Reflections". Andrea Priebe commented that she would like to see more of the bridge, so here are some recent images of the bridge and a little history. The bridge is actually standard concrete construction. The stone blocks and other features were the work of William Cochran and others who painted the concrete to look like stone masonry and other objects. Reflections - in flood waters

We had heavy rain about 2 weeks ago that flooded parts of Baker Park along Carroll Creek. In fact, the park is part of the flood control for Frederick, preventing flooding in the business district. This picture is several days after the flood and the creek was already back in is banks (in the trees at the top of this picture).
