Reflections - in black

Shiny black surfaces also reflect and the curves of this gas tank distort the world around it (including the photographer!) Photo of Jim's bike taken on our trip to SC.

Sonny and Cher

Sonny and Cher are two cats adopted by our SC family several years ago. They belonged to a neighbor, but hung out at Jim and Tammy's where they go extra food and play time. After Sonny got injured in a fight with some other animal, Jim took him to the vet for treatment. Afterwards he asked the neighbor if they could officially adopt both cats and they said okay. Cher is more aloof (unless you are getting milk from the fridge), but Sonny hung out with me during our visit earlier this month. He also likes to sleep in the middle of the living room and can sleep in almost any position. I would not think that sleeping with my head facing backwards would be comfortable, but he sure does.

Reflections - Windows and mirrors

Lots of reflections and double reflections in this shot: the mirror, the door, the window and even the windshield in side the van. The tree in our front yard is reflected and so is the one in our backyard (over the reflected garage in the mirror).

Return of the finches

We put a bird feeder out before we went on our trip, but this Saturday was the first time we spotted any of these colorful birds.

Reflections - Lemur house

When I went to the Riverbanks Botanical Gardens, I passed through a small portion of the zoo. The lemur house was reflected in the water that surrounds the lemurs. At the time the lemurs were well hidden.

Great Grandson coming soon

The nine-month countdown has reached 3; and preparations for the fourth generation addition to our family are proceeding nicely. Our trip south was to see Christy and take her some of the baby stuff we had collected. Marianne has been in full shopping mode since we learned that it is a boy. We also delivered a couple of boxes of items from my daughter. A bonus for the trip was that the Grandsons were on spring break and we got to spend a lot of time with them also.

Christy checks out one of the outfits Marianne bought.

A baby book to record his early life. Or is You Tube the way to go these days?

Christy loves animals (she works in a Veternarian's office); so the animal kingdom is well represented in toys, clothes, blankets, etc, etc. etc...

And finally, a little refreshment after refolding the clothes and blankets.

Reflections - Sky and water

Two reflections from South Carolina this week. Above, the sky and trees reflected in the van windows. And below, the reflection in the water wall at the Fusion Bowl restaurant of its entrance.

Reflections - Arches

This reflection of a pedestrian bridge over Carroll Creek in downtown Frederick was taken in September 2008.
