Day 109 - St. Mary's Church, Rockville, Maryland

While Marianne was taking photos for her post, I took these shots of the church. The original St. Mary's Church was completed in 1817. In 1979 it was renamed the Chapel of Our Lady. Above is the view from near F. Scott Fitzgerald's grave. Below is the front of the Chapel.

This is a view of the new St. Mary's Church from the front of the Chapel.

I love little churches and these are very pretty. The white and blue are amazing.

I miss pretty little old churches like in that first photo. We just don't seem to have more than a handful of those down here.

Thanks for posting the pictures of old St. Mary's. I just attended a baptism in Bowie, my brother's first son, and remembered my brother's own baptism, at the old St. Mary's church. I must have been about 4, and saw my first rainbow from the cemetery. Almost 50 years ago! So great to find this image on the web.
