Church spires are a well known feature of the City of Frederick skyline. They are visible approaching the city from most directions. I took these images walking through downtown with my grandson on Saturday. These churches date to before the Civil War and several were used as hospitals during the war, caring for the wounded of both the north and south.

Hey, Lew! I just saw you on the Skywatch roster and thought I'd wander by. Spectacular shots! Love the cross a top the clock tower -- and the header! It is glorious!
