A part of the oak that makes acorns on my van window after a windy night and the reflection of the tree from whence it came.

Reflections - Power at dusk

Odd Shots - Where are the wheels?

This may not be an odd shot in Yakima Valley, but it is in Maryland. John Deere tractors have wheels and this is the only John Deere crawler I have seen. In the 1940's John Deere shipped tractor chassis to the Lindeman brothers in Yakima where they were mounted on crawler tracks. The crawlers were preferred in the orchards as they were more stable on the hills. Later John Deere manufactured crawlers in its Dubuque factory. On a visit to my brother-in-law's this weekend I spotted a family of rare woodland flamingos wandering through the pines behind his house. They remained still while I took this shot..

Odd Shots - Cat bird seat

As I finished cutting the grass last week, this cat bird landed on the mower to catch a ride (or maybe just to look for dinner). It must have a nest near our shed and has no fear of people, hopping down and walking within a few feet of me.

Reflections - Sculpture in pond

On our trip to IKEA we found this small pond among the other builds nearby. The unusal sculpture is reflected in the water and the slightly curved plates yield a distored reflection of the sky trees and building.

Odd Shots - Minnie Pearl flowers

We went to IKEA yesterday to get a few things for the house. When the cashier was ringing up the prices, she put the flowers in this vase Marianne found, and I thought Grand Ole Opry and Minnie Pearl. So today I put the vase and flowers on the table and you have my Odd Shot for this week.
